HS-100-A Hard Broaching System By RECONDA
Reconda AG is assuming the manufacturing of the HS-100-A Diamond Hard Broaching machines. This machine is proven to remove distortion from hardening as well as eliminate geometrical errors of internal splines and profiles. The partnership between Reconda AG for machine manufacturing and Fässler by Daetwyler Industries for hardbroaching tooling development and manufacture will ensure continuous support of existing and potential customers and development of this unique machine and process.
The HS-100-A is a hard broaching system for correcting inner profiles. With this system and the associated diamond tools, it is possible to economically and quickly correct geometrical deviations in the inner profile of a workpiece in a downstream broaching process.
Hard broaching allows the reliable machining of:

After the hardening process, high-quality splines and the associated shafts and hubs must fit together precisely. Loose gears and synchronizer rings in particular plus many other workpieces have an inner spline bore for an optimal torque transfer to the associated shaft. They require high accuracy during fabrication to avoid load peaks in the assembled parts. In most cases, the bores have too much geometrical distortion after the heat-treatment process.
In the past, the entire value added chain made no provisions for the further processing of such workpieces. For this reason, specifically the machining of generally formed bored components after heat treatment, Fässler developed the hard broaching process with compact diamond-plated broaching tools. Heat-treatment distortions that appear in the form of concentricity deviations, directional errors as well as profile deviations and ovality can be removed. Extensive burring and other small damage can also be removed with this process. This generally results in decreased assembly time (pairs are eliminated) and a much higher percentage of contact area, which in turn leads to a longer useful product life – especially on heavily loaded splines.
